In early 2022, The Chief Ntekpe Family Foundation broke ground on one of its most transformative projects yet: a free community water well serving Nkek Abak, Ukanafun, and the surrounding communities.
For generations, families here had walked long distances or relied on unsafe sources just to fill a bucket. Clean water was a daily struggle, not a given. Watch the video above to see the well come to life — from the first turn of the drill to the moment water finally reached the surface.
Today, the well runs free of charge, giving thousands of people direct access to clean, safe water close to home. It’s a project the Foundation is proud to have delivered, and one that continues to serve the community every single day.
