Rochester, MN — The Chief Ntekpe Family Foundation is proud to announce its official launch as a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming communities through education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and cultural preservation.
Named in honor of the late Chief Samuel Akpan Ntekpe and Mrs. Jessie Samuel Ntekpe (née Jessie Sampson Udoidiong), the Foundation carries forward their legacy of service, integrity, and community upliftment.
Founded by Chief Mfonabasi Samuel Ntekpe — known as Obong Idoreyin (Chief of Hope) — the Foundation operates with a clear mission: to ensure that every community has the leadership, resources, and resilience to thrive across generations.
“This Foundation is not just an organization — it is a family’s promise to the world,” said Chief Mfonabasi. “Every initiative we undertake honors the values my parents lived by: that true leadership is measured not by what you accumulate, but by what you give.”
Initial Programs
The Foundation will launch with four strategic program areas:
- Education — Scholarships, school construction, and teacher training
- Healthcare — Medical outreaches and rural clinic support
- Economic Empowerment — Microfinance, vocational training, and business grants
- Cultural Preservation — Documenting and celebrating Ibibio/Annang heritage
