When Aniekan received word that she had been selected for the Foundation’s Merit Scholarship, she was sitting under a mango tree reviewing her notes by the last light of the evening sun. She had no desk lamp. No electricity. But she had something that no circumstance could diminish: an unbreakable will to learn.

Today, Aniekan is in her second year at the University of Uyo, studying medicine. She dreams of returning to Ukanafun as a doctor — the first in her village’s history.

The Ntekpe Family Legacy

The Chief Ntekpe Family Foundation is named in honor of Chief Samuel Akpan Ntekpe and Mrs. Jessie Samuel Ntekpe (née Jessie Sampson Udoidiong) — two extraordinary individuals whose lives embodied service, integrity, and unconditional love for their community.

Their son, Chief Mfonabasi Samuel Ntekpe, founded this organization to ensure that their values live on — not as memory, but as action. Every scholarship granted, every health outreach conducted, and every community empowered is a continuation of their legacy.
